I live in a converted steading/barn, in the middle of the countryside - fondly referred to as Narnia.. We are on a hill, so we quite often get the snow when it comes.
We're about 15 minutes drive from the nearest decent village shop. 20 minutes to a supermarket. No chance of a takeaway delivery!
I live here with my husband (soulmate since 2008, husband since 2017). We're a great team, I genuinely mean that. He's my best friend, and I am so pleased that our paths crossed all those years ago. We met online, and started talking in April 2008. Met in July 2008. Decided to give the dating thing a go in August, and have been together ever since. From that day in April, I don't think we have ever gone more than a day without contact, and those days are very rare. We don't really speak on the phone.. Unless it's "I'm on the way home, did you stop for milk or do I need to?"
He works full time and occasionally has to work away. Whether he is in Dubai, Mexico, Texas or Norway, we're still in contact every day.
Also with us, are 3 cats. Jasmine (Jazz), Poppy, and Indigo. I never thought I would be a cat-lady, as I was brought up with dogs, but I adore these crazy furballs. They are so individual, and bring me a lot of joy. Jazz and Poppy were rehomed from the Cats Protection League, and Indigo was from a Gumtree advert. You couldn't have 3 more different personalities!
I love that my house is quirky. It is technically a bungalow, but we have a couple of steps here and there, which add character.
We have one huge room which is "L" shaped, and is the living room, dining room, and kitchen.
A long hallway, off which comes the bathroom, and three bedrooms. Well, I say "bedrooms"... We have our bedroom, and two other rooms... The first is kind of the study, but has hubby's exercise bike. And a futon. The second is unofficially my room. It has all my craft stuff. A chest of drawers of clothes for selling on Ebay. A TV and DVD player, with Netflix and Amazon Prime. A cross trainer/walker. Books. It's the kitten time-out room for Indigo. Many planners on the wall. A true Room of Requirement!
Hubby does a very good job of maintaining the outside, and we also have a man shed for him to tinker in.
I love my home x
